Life Of Wanderlust

I've been a traveling art model for almost 3 years now, the lifestyle defiantly isn't for everyone. It can put a strain on having a "normal" life (who wants to be normal anyways?! ) I'm in love with the traveling part of it, I want to see and experience as much as I can,  rack up as many airline miles as possible, talk to even more people, and explore the cities until the soles of my shoes wear out.
My inspiration to keep going? Not who you think...it's not a world leader or historical icon, it was a stranger that I ended up talking to while traveling with no schedule to be back to work next week. Looking at a tourist book browsing which restaurant to go to for dinner that night and deciding whether to book his hotel room a few more nights or see where the road would lead him to tomorrow. The career, house, corporate ladder and all.... that can wait, because if he doesn't let it wait he will only dream about the reality he is living now.

Artomatic

Artomatic is Washington DC’s largest art show that lasts a month.

I was lucky enough to be traveling on the east coast during the show and able to attend. I was part of Eye of Ra's Body Language project that we did a shoot for in April.
He told me to choose a word that meant something to me, I choose "wanderlust" for obvious reasons. ;-)
I'm guilty of not being able to stay in one place for an extended period of time, thoughts of adventure flood my mind while I'm at home.

The show may be over but this art project is still alive, Eye of Ra has came up with the idea to turn it in to magnetic fridge art. If you would like to help support Eye of Ra's project click the link provided.

Story Shot

A shot taken by Eye of Ra based on the story "A New Horse"

A NEW HORSE
Two farmhands shared a room. After a while, the one who slept near the door began to feel very tired early in the day. His friend asked what was wrong. “An awful thing happens every night,” he said. “A witch turns me into a horse and rides me all over the countryside.”
“I’ll sleep in your bed tonight,” his friend said. “We’ll see what happens to me.”
About midnight an old woman who lived nearby came into the room. She mumbled some strange words over the farmhand, and he found he couldn’t move. Then she slipped a bridle on him, and he turned into a horse.
The next thing he knew, she was riding him across the fields at breakneck speed, beating him to make him go even faster. Soon they came to a house where a party was going on. She hitched him to a fence and went in.
While she was gone, the farmhand rubbed against the fence until the bridle came off, and he turned back into a human. Then he went into the house and found the witch. He spoke those strange words over her, and with the bridle he turned her into a horse. Then he rode her to a blacksmith and had her fitted with horseshoes. After that, he rode her to the farm where she lived.
“I have a pretty good filly here,” he told her husband, “but I need a stronger horse. Would you like to trade?” The old man looked her over, and said he would do it. The farmhand picked out another horse and rode away.
Her husband led his new horse to the barn. He took off the bridle and went to hang it up. But when he came back, the new horse was gone. Instead, there stood his wife with horseshoes nailed to her hands and feet.

With people like us

“You're not sorry to go, of course. With people like us our home is where we are not... No one person in the world is necessary to you or to me.”

City Hearts

He walked away that night
Image blurring out with the city lights
His love compared to fifth avenue
Personality like Wall street.

Heart laced with diamonds
Cut straight through the middle
So we can share this bloody moment

Missing your touch
Razors sprouting from your fingertips
Snagging  across my skin
Craving the distress

The tea bubbles up
spilling over the rim
Puddling herbal liquid onto the table

Let us just move on
Only to be scolded again
There's shame in ignorance
When truths eyes shift towards you

Blame In The Sky

Cover up the truth
The sky is feeling gray but blames the clouds instead
Rain down tears of hate
The world melts as it pelts the ground

Wonder why

They wonder why the flowers bloom each year
These are the same people that wonder
Why the fireflies sparkle at night
The train is crowded
We pass by the people that wonder where the track goes
They walk
Follow
Run
Into the dark tunnels
Never ending path
How can you guide someone who won't see the truth
Reality
Chasing after realities that don't even belong to them
Grabbing fate by the neck and choking it for a new future

Seashell

Seashell seashell
Tell me your secrets
Hidden ocean confined inside
Let me out
Whispers of the sea haunt me
Deep
Dark
Creatures find their way out in the night
The tide lurches in
Sloshing against the rock walls
Reaching up to the nights sky
White foam traces the shoreline as the water recedes back to its home.

Morning

                       Morning regret
                       false love , I'm positive.

Basking in the light of the sun

It's all black and white, and he's the painter of the world
but why not splatter some color into the mix
nothing is certain
This painting is just an impressionism
The green paint drips off the tree branches
Drip drip drip
Meeting the rocks down below

These were taken using my camera phone during a hike in Oregon with a friend. It was way to beautiful there to keep my clothes on. ;)

You're never homeless when the world is your home

I've been behind at updating this thing due to my winter time hiatus. My 2012 traveling started with a trip to Seattle Washington. I took a traveling buddy along for the first time, I must say it was nice to have company! :)  We got some sight seeing in the day before I had to shoot.

Did a trade shoot while there with an amazing artist, the theme was called "Chained Beauty"
Here are some shots from the shoot-  Photographer-Tommy Edwards
