Reaching for your dreams.

"It's never easy to keep reaching for dreams. Strength and courage can sometimes be lonely friends. But those who reach ,walk in stardust."

The Year Rushed By

The months speed by, it's almost time for a new year. This year has been good to me though, lots of changes, new friends and learning experiences. I've spent the past several months figuring out who I am, and also to accept it and not worry what other people think of me. In summery I'm a model who loves to get nude for art *gasp* A lot of people outside the industry have problems looking past that. Honestly, I don't regret it one bit. The human form shouldn't be something people are ashamed of, nudity is honest. We are all the same. I can't explain the "high" I get from being part of images that are beautiful and evokes emotion and power.

My day as a DC tourist

I end up in Washington DC area a good amount of times for work, going to studios in the area ,meeting photographers on location or at their homes. But for as many times I go , I don't have the chance to actually explore and be a tourist. So I planned a day yesterday for this very reason. We hopped on the Metro and headed into the city, got off at the Smithsonian stop and walked around from there. Turns out 1 day isn't enough to see all the museums there and really get the full effect. The crowds were big, the day was hot and time seemed to not be on our side that day. We ended up only going to 2 museums. The Air and Space museum and the natural history museum. Oh, and word of advice for anyone that is not familiar with DC , pack your own food! The prices of food in the museum food courts were highly priced. They had a McDonald's with no dollar menu! :( The woman in front of me spent almost $45 for her husband and her 3 kids to eat there.

The thought has crossed my mind a few times.

Some day's I feel like hitting the road and just become a permanent traveler doing shoots and site see along the way. I want to meet new people, see new things and go to towns I've never even heard of. Two weeks or even a month is not nearly enough time to satisfy my wanderlust. I'm such a drifter! Although I adore the people around me, I can't help to feel like I'm missing out and letting time pass me by. Maybe it's time to start planning my next adventure?

Oregon, I forgot how much I missed it.

My five days in Oregon pasted by very quickly, I started my journey heading back to the east coast this morning. I had a few shoots while I was in Oregon but the rest of the time I spent with my family and friends. Up until now I hadn't seen any of my family in almost a year now. The journey to Oregon took 5 days total (that included stopping for a few shoots along the way).

Here's a few snap shots with family and friends in Oregon.

My bestfriend Krystina and I.

My cousin jessica and her son.

Start of trip

First night was spent in Dayton Ohio, I did a trade shoot in the morning with Gary http://www.modelmayhem.com/24931. Did some shots in a boiler room, had fun. On the road again now after a shoot at a beautiful private park in Terre Haute Indiana with R John Ferguson.http://www.modelmayhem.com/1519631.
I'm about 2 hours west of St.Louis now. The current temp is around 90 degree's, and it seems alot of the rest stops and parking lots along the way do not have shade to park in. :(

(more pictures soon to come.)

Count down.

3 more days until I depart Virginia for a long journey out west. I get to fulfill my wanderlust!
If anyone has any last minute travel tips or places I should see along the way, I would love to hear them. Today is dedicated to cleaning out my car, packing and changing the oil in my car.

Lately

I'm grateful for the people I've met since I started my journey down this path. It makes life so much easier having friends that understand your chosen lifestyle and you can just be yourself around. I've met so many talented photographer's along the way. I would like to take this time to share with you some of the great people I've created with in the past couple months.

I will start out with Studio J. He has a gift for capturing the perfect moment and turning it into something beautiful. His images are exquisite and artful. He is very professional and I highly recommend him. Check out his page http://www.modelmayhem.com/113154

Next I would like to share with you work from USRomance. He has a unique style that is eye catching. He was fun to work with and had me laughing the whole time :) You can check him out here http://www.modelmayhem.com/1332568

Last but not least, here is a couple images from my session with Drew. He was kind enough to help me get started on Zivity. He's a friendly guy with a good eye for capturing alluring images. Check him out at http://www.modelmayhem.com/1317638

People We Meet

Just got done with my 3rd shoot in the last 24 hours. Being a traveling model truly does transform the way you look at life. Ever since I started modeling I've became substantially more social than before and there's not a ounce of "shy" left in me! Unlike in "the real world" , where you have a very short amount of time to get to know the person you are working with. The connection you make with them translates into the images you create together. We meet as strangers and leave as friends. Sometimes I wonder how I was ever lonely when all along I've been surrounded by so many people. In my opinion loneliness is just a frame of mind and with the right attitude it can easily be vanquished.

Last weekend was a nice change in pace, a weekend trip to the beach. One of my shoots had to cancel, so I ended up with some free time on my hands (which was nice). I had a chance to slow down and breath. Lately when I've been traveling I try to book full, which gives me little time to myself. I also had some extra time to do a TF shoot to get some nifty images for my portfolio. It's great meeting new people and creating together. Meeting new people is the best part of this job and I enjoy it. It keeps me going and makes me feel like I belong when I'm in a distant city where I don't know anyone. Now I'm off to do laundry and pack my suitcase again for my trip to Baltimore on Sunday.

Fells point

The Fell's point ModelMayhem meet and greet was amazing.
I got the chance to shoot with a python on the harbour. I've always been highly afraid of snakes, but I think I'm over that fear now.

Alot of people showed up for the event, we took over the streets of the harbour capturing image after image. The general public looked confused seeing girls running around in crazy dresses with photographers. We had a few people come up to us and ask about the event. Check out the end of the forum page on the event, photographers are starting to post the images taken there. http://www.modelmayhem.com/po.php?thread_id=488085&page=23thread_id=488085&page=23
